so while i was on my way home last night, i thought of making a top 10-- things to be thankful for list. so here we go. this isn't in order; i'm just listing as i go.
1. I'm thankful for my job: everyone's nice, helpful & welcoming. It's not a hard job, but it's like you still have to give what's due of you. you know? Again, my supervisor is Filipino; she always makes me laugh. She's still so jolly and energetic when everyone's all dead tired.
2. I'm thankful for my 2 girls-- Mom & Sis. Now that my sister got her driver's license, we're always out of the house either grocery shopping or just doing errands in general. Today, we actually dropped off my mom at her new workplace. Btw, her workplace and our school are a 5 min drive from each other, so we'd go all together in the morning and we'd go home at the end of the day all together once school starts. That sounds really exciting!!! We're always laughing in the car and dancing to the music. I love my family time.
3. I'm thankful for my 2 boys-- Pop & Bit. Just like my mom, my dad could be the funniest guy ever. He always makes fun of people, especially us. I love it. He's really cool though he's always tired from work. He doesn't get much time off from work so we always make our family time really worth it and fun. I miss fishing with my dad. I think aside from biking, fishing is one of our shared passions. I like how calm it is; how simple it works. Of course, I'm thankful that my bitbit is growing up becoming more handsome each day. Though he doesn't like getting cuddled anymore since accdg to him he's a grown up man, I still "baby" him like when he was just a toddler. I think I wanna cuddle him even more than my mom LOL. I don't know why, but I just wanna pinch/squeeze to deathhhhhh. UGHHHHH LOL!!!
4. I'm thankful that I have the opportunity to indulge in my newly discovered passion for cooking/ baking. Just last week, I baked bibingka and made embutido, which were both a hit! I was particularly surprised with my embutido. I've always loved it. I remember requesting it to be my baon/ lunch for school during my kindergarten days. We had a neighbour who makes it as her own little business, that's why. I love how complicated it looks, so when I was able to make it, I felt so happy!! Of course, I love cooking as much as I love eating! Mmmm sushi.
5. I'm thankful for my summer school. Although it's hard to balance school and work, they both keep me sane and pre-occupied. I'd go nuts if I had nothing to do all summer. I'm thankful that the prof I had for my statistics class was really nice and considerate. She didn't want to ruin our summer by taking her course so she made it fun. She also had this very cute personality that just leaves you in awe since how could someone so smart be so down-to-earth at the same time! She didn't want to be called prof too, since she's still finishing her PhD currently. I will always remember her. As for my linguistics in St. George, they switched profs-- from a Russian to an Asian, woot. Btw, the stats teacher i had was Asian!! My Asian linguistics teacher is so much better than the other one. Or maybe I'm just biased =P
6. I'm thankful for this wonderful home that I'm living in. At times, I want to move out and experience the real world independently, but having created this home with my family makes me forget about that idea. It's like my safety blanket that I cannot not have. I love being home, which brings me: I still have to mower the lawn. sigh, time to get dark-er LOL! and i have to water the plants.
7. I'm thankful for the van. Although we've had Sienna for 3-4 years already, it's only now that I'm experiencing its convenience. Sienna drives me to and from work. Sienna sometimes bring me to school too. Sienna picks me up at Rexall at 10 pm every tuesdays and thursdays when I come from downtown T.O. Sienna is our big helper when we get groceries either from stinky asian groceries (LOL) or to white grocery chains. Sienna is there when my mom, my sister and I are in the car laughing our bums off. I think Sienna has been bringing us closer as a family. Sienna is convenient. Sienna makes my family's life easier. Lastly, Sienna provides A/C when it's boiling outside.
8. I'm thankful for the nice weather. I've been staying outside during my class breaks these days. I like reading under a tree while the wind is slowly blowing hahaha. No seriously, I do. I feel like I'm in heaven. It's paradise when the weather's kind and you have a book in your hand. Yesterday, it was raining a bit. When I reached home, it wasn't raining anymore. The weather when it stopped raining reminded me of Bangui's weather. It reminded me of my sweet childhood.
9. I'm thankful for my slippers. It's been my go-to footwear this summer. Although I hate seeing other people's feet (lol), I like my feet free and open. I like seeing my pedicure din hahaha. But seriously, I'm always walking everywhere and most of the time, I don't have time to get ready so I just wear my slippers <3
10. I'm thankful for those people who inspire me.
